Rajasthan Royals Star Riyan Parag Got His First Team-Mate From North East

Finally Riyan Parag, the rising star of Rajasthan Royals, has got his first team-mate from the North East India. The very talented all-rounder from Tripura Manisankar Murasingh is all set to shine in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024! There have been frequent allegations that players from the North East are deprived of the IPL. However, Rajasthan Royals have broken the trend by signing a second cricketer from the North East (Manisankar Murasingh IPL Team). Riyan Parag was the first cricketer from the North East to play for Rajasthan Royals. Thus Rajasthan Royals have once again proved that the team has always given a platform to emerging players to showcase their talents. Meanwhile, Riyan Parag, the rising star of Rajasthan Royals has got his first team-mate from the North East India.

Manisankar Murasingh will become the third player from the North East to play in the IPL if he makes his debut for Rajasthan during IPL 2024. Former fast bowler of Assam Abu Nechim Ahmed had played for Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) for many years.

Murasingh, a left-handed batsman and medium pacer, played a crucial role for Tripura in the Ranji season, impressing with both bat and ball. His outstanding performance earned him the prestigious Lala Amarnath Award from the BCCI for being the best all-rounder in the Ranji Trophy cricket in 2019-20. During this period, he scored 598 runs and took 49 wickets.

Since choosing cricket as his profession in the early 2000s, Murasingh made his debut for Tripura in 2009. He has played a total of 217 matches (including FC, List A, and T20s) for the state, and scored 5483 runs so far. On the other hand, Murasingh with the ball has taken an impressive 390 wickets.

Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly lauded Murasingh’s achievements during his recent visit to Tripura. Ganguly, who was in Tripura as the brand ambassador of Tripura Tourism, praised Murasingh’s talent.

Murasingh expressed his gratitude in media, saying, “It’s a huge honor for any cricketer. When someone like Sourav Ganguly appreciates your performance, it boosts morale. His words inspire me to work harder and contribute more to my team.”

The cricket fans of Tripura are overjoyed by Murasingh’s opportunity to showcase his skills in the IPL. They eagerly anticipate seeing him represent Tripura on the big stage of the IPL.

Under the guidance of former India and Bengal wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, Tripura achieved third place in Group A at last year’s Vijay Hazare Trophy, winning four out of seven matches. Murasingh played a pivotal role in Tripura’s victory over Mumbai, contributing with both bat and ball by taking 4 wickets for 23 runs and scoring 55 runs off 26 balls.
